Sales and Delivery Conditions B2C (B2B below)
Prices
Invoicing is based on the price list valid on the day of delivery as shown on the website. All our prices are shown with and without 25% VAT and are daily prices.
Your order will be processed as quickly as possible. We reserve the right regarding sold-out items, price changes and errors. Purchases under DKK 50 are subject to a fee of DKK 9.95. You can order your goods by telephone or letter enclosing samples and any patterns.
Pricing errors: If a price is obviously incorrect and you should reasonably have noticed this, we are not obliged to deliver the product in question at the incorrect price.
Retention of title
In any case where credit is granted, the sale is considered made with retention of title, so that the delivery remains the property of Skindhuset A/S until the entire purchase price plus accrued costs has been paid.
Payment
You can pay in several ways:
- By card (Dankort, Visa, VISA Electron, Mastercard, JCB, Maestro), MobilePay, ViaBill, PayPal. The data you send in connection with a card payment is encrypted (SSL). The amount is only charged when the goods are dispatched from Skindhuset. We never charge a higher amount than you approved at purchase.
- Bank transfer, Danske Bank IBAN DK26 3000 4110 139683. The goods are sent when the full amount has been received in our account. (Note: with bank transfer you are not protected by the chargeback scheme.) Fee DKK 5.
- Account & public institutions – not without prior agreement, up to 30 days net. Public institutions generally have 30 days net. Remember EAN number and CVR/VAT number.
A card fee may be associated with the various payment options. If the payment deadline is exceeded, 2% interest is calculated per 30 days, but at least DKK 25. Prices are exclusive of postage.
You must be 18 years old to shop at skindhuset.dk – if you are under 18, you must have your parents' consent.
Shipping
Skindhuset delivers all over the world. You pay the actual postage or freight costs. Please note that PostNord calculates the volume of parcels, so weight is not the only factor in the price. Goods are dispatched 2–5 working days after receipt of the order.
In Denmark the freight price is normally between DKK 35 and 70 – purchases over DKK 1,499 are free of charge. If the free-shipping option as well as the right of withdrawal are used, the postage is deducted from the amount refunded to you. During holidays, expect a few extra days of delivery time. For uncollected parcels, an amount corresponding to the actual return freight costs is deducted from the refunded amount.
Responsibility for goods purchased from Skindhuset passes to you as a consumer at the time of delivery, i.e. as soon as the parcel has been handed over for shipment.
Return service / Right of withdrawal
A 14-day right of withdrawal applies under the Danish Consumer Contracts Act for mail-order purchases by private individuals. This does not apply to services, perishable goods or goods specially adapted for you, e.g. goods by the metre, leather straps or cut cord, webbing, chains. Other rules apply to commercial purchases.
When goods are returned and the right of withdrawal is exercised, the goods must be returned in the same condition and quantity as when received; partial return is not covered by the law. Postage and any fees are not reimbursed. Any discounts for the total purchase will also be reversed.
The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day you took possession of the goods (or the last item in the case of an order of several items delivered separately). You must notify us within 14 days of receipt that you wish to withdraw – via the return form: https://www.skindhuset.dk/returformular/. When exercising the right of withdrawal, you pay the return shipping yourself. Please enclose a copy of the invoice.
If you withdraw, send the goods to: Bjerringbrovej 147, 2610 Rødovre, Denmark. Note: We do not accept parcels sent by cash-on-delivery, DAO or collection.
Click & Collect: Please check your order before you leave. Unfortunately we cannot replace any missing goods once you have left the shop. The distance-selling rules do not apply to Click & Collect, but the shop's policy does. For purchases in the shop we do not offer a right of return, but you have 8 days' exchange right.
Right of complaint (warranty)
When you shop at skindhuset.dk you naturally have a 24-month right of complaint. This means you can have the item repaired, exchanged, your money back or a price reduction, depending on the specific situation. The fault must have been present at the time of purchase, and the complaint must be justified and not due to incorrect use of the product.
0–6 months after purchase: If a fault appears within the first 6 months, it is assumed to have been present at the time of purchase; the retailer must prove otherwise.
6–24 months after purchase: In this period the consumer must prove that the fault was present at the time of purchase. For a justified complaint we refund your reasonable freight costs. If the item is free of defects, we charge freight and an inspection fee.

Liability
Skindhuset A/S is not liable for operating loss, loss of time, loss of profit, other indirect loss or consequential damage. Check the item carefully before use. Hide, leather and fur come from living animals; faults, holes and weak points may occur. If a fault is found, the item must not be used. Colour, size and shape may vary from skin to skin; the stated sizes are for guidance only. Always test care products, colour and cleaning on an invisible area.
Refund via bank transfer: When an amount is refunded via bank, we charge a handling fee of DKK 50.
Shortages, complaints and incorrect delivery
It is your responsibility as a customer to inspect your goods immediately upon receipt for any faults, deficiencies or transport damage. If you discover a discrepancy, please contact our customer service as soon as possible with your order number, a description and photo documentation.
1. Missing items in the delivery: If the value of the missing item is less than 20% of the total order value, Skindhuset reserves the right to refund the full price of the item. If the value exceeds 20%, we will generally arrange a subsequent delivery at no additional cost.
2. Missing parts of an item: Non-essential parts (e.g. a single screw, a decorative element) are compensated with an estimated value. Essential parts (e.g. a bag handle) are considered a defect and handled as a complaint (see point 3).
3. Defective, damaged or incorrectly delivered items: Depending on the situation and in accordance with the Sale of Goods Act, we offer: remedy (repair), replacement (a new equivalent item), proportional reduction (partial refund) or cancellation (return for a full refund). Skindhuset covers return costs for a justified and pre-approved complaint. Unauthorised returns are not covered.
Code of Conduct / Corporate Social Responsibility
- Child labour is not accepted.
- Local legislation must be complied with.
- Forced labour is not accepted.
- Employees must not be punished physically, mentally or in any humiliating way.
- Emphasis is placed on a healthy working environment and proper facilities.
- Discrimination is not accepted.
- Working hours and pay must comply with the country's rules.
- Animal welfare must be respected. As far as possible, hides should come from animals that are part of food production anyway.
- Transport of goods must be as environmentally friendly as possible.
Skindhuset has the right to immediately discontinue cooperation with a manufacturer if rules are grossly violated.
Material notes
Nickel: Be aware of what contains nickel and what it is to be used for. Skindhuset sells goods containing nickel and cannot take responsibility for what the end-user uses the goods for. Even if an item is described as nickel-free, the underlying metal may contain nickel. Skindhuset gives no guarantee that an item is 100% nickel-free – buy a test set at the pharmacy.
Sun and heat: Keep hide, leather and fur away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Knives/blades: Knives and blades are often delivered less sharpened to prevent a sharp blade from losing its edge during transport.
Iron: Many of our products are made of iron and can therefore rust. Rust often comes from condensation during rapid temperature changes and does not affect the quality.
About leather quality
At Skindhuset we always strive to offer high-quality leather. Our leather is a natural product; no leather is completely flawless. Minor variations in texture, colour or small irregularities are a natural part of the leather and attest to its authenticity.
When a specific quality level is stated on the product card, you can rely on the leather meeting that standard. If no quality is stated, the leather falls "outside category" – often because we bought the lot as a remnant or mixed batch, which may mean a broader range of qualities with more natural marks. If you are not satisfied, you can return the item provided our general return conditions are met.
Force majeure
If the goods or service cannot be delivered as agreed due to circumstances beyond Skindhuset's control, any direct or indirect loss is no concern of Skindhuset. Such circumstances include, for example, labour disputes, natural disasters, war, riots, seizure, and international conflicts or sanctions.
Interpretation and disputes
Disputes regarding this agreement are settled by the Maritime and Commercial Court in Copenhagen. However, Skindhuset reserves the right to recover claims through payment orders or legal action under the general rules of Danish civil procedure.
Privacy policy (GDPR)
Skindhuset registers the data for the purpose of processing your order. The data is stored at Skindhuset and kept for 5 years. The data controller is Skindhuset A/S. Data provided to Skindhuset is in no way passed on or sold to third parties; we do not register sensitive personal data.
You have the right to object to the registration and the right of access to the data we have registered about you. Enquiries by e-mail to info@skindhuset.dk. In certain cases we record calls for training and documentation purposes; recordings are deleted after 30 days (request deletion: dataansvarlig@skindhuset.dk). To enter into an agreement we need your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.
Cookies: Cookies are used on skindhuset.dk to optimise the website. You can delete cookies in your browser at any time.
Log statistics: We use log statistics solely for the purpose of optimising skindhuset.dk.
Courses – cancellation: Up to 14 days before, 100% of the course price is refunded, thereafter 50%. If we find a replacement participant, we refund 100%. If food is included, we need the order at least 5 days before the course; allergies must be stated when booking.
Sales and Delivery Conditions B2B
1. General: These conditions apply to all deliveries from Skindhuset ("the seller") to businesses ("the buyer"). Deviating agreements are only valid if confirmed in writing by the seller.
2. Offer and conclusion of agreement: The seller's offers are valid for 7 days from the offer date unless otherwise stated. An agreement is only binding on the seller once a written order confirmation has been sent.
3. Prices: All prices are stated in Danish kroner (DKK) excluding VAT and other duties. Subject to changes in exchange rates, raw material prices and transport costs after conclusion of the agreement.
4. Delivery: Delivery is EXW the seller's address (Incoterms 2020) unless otherwise agreed. Risk passes to the buyer upon delivery.
5. Delivery time: The seller endeavours to meet the agreed delivery time but is not liable for delays due to circumstances beyond its control.
6. Payment: Payment terms are net from the invoice date unless otherwise agreed. If the payment deadline is exceeded, interest is calculated under the Danish Interest Act.
Reminder fees: A reminder is sent with a new payment deadline of at least 10 days. We may charge a maximum of DKK 100 reminder fee per reminder, at most 3 fee-charged reminders for the same claim, with at least 10 days between each.
Compensation fee: In addition to reminder fees and default interest, businesses are entitled to a fixed compensation amount for late payment (under the Interest Act, currently DKK 310, as of April 2025).
7. Liability for defects: The seller provides 12 months' liability for defects from the delivery date. The buyer must complain in writing no later than 8 days after the defect is or should have been detected. Liability is limited to remedy, replacement or price reduction. Back-orders are not delivered subsequently.
8. Product liability: The seller is liable in accordance with the Product Liability Act.
9. Force majeure: The seller is not liable for non-performance due to force majeure.
10. Disputes: Any dispute is settled by the Danish courts under Danish law.
11. Changes: The seller reserves the right to change these conditions with reasonable notice.
Public institutions: The institution must pay for the ordered goods when the invoice is correct (with the right EAN number). An error in the EAN number merely delays payment but does not remove the payment obligation. In case of late payment due to incorrect information, the reminder and compensation rules apply accordingly.
12. Discounts: Any discounts for the total purchase are reversed upon return. Discounts cannot be combined with other offers. No extra discount is given on special price lists such as Saphir. Welcome discounts are reserved for B2C.
International delivery – import, customs and VAT
Responsibility for import of goods
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the goods ordered can be lawfully imported into the destination country. This includes compliance with all applicable import regulations, laws and restrictions, including obtaining necessary import licences, permits and certifications, and paying all applicable customs duties, taxes and fees.
While Skindhuset will provide accurate product information and assist the Customer with the import process to the best of its ability, Skindhuset is not responsible for any delays, costs or penalties arising from the Customer's failure to comply with import regulations in the destination country. If the goods are refused entry due to the Customer's failure to comply, the Customer will be responsible for all costs associated with the return or disposal of the goods.
VAT and duties on delivery within and outside the EU
On delivery within the EU, Danish VAT (25%) is charged unless otherwise applicable. In some countries local VAT is charged (e.g. 19% in Germany).
If you are a business, you can provide your valid VAT number; we will then ship the goods without VAT if the number is valid and the conditions for VAT exemption (reverse charge) are met.
On delivery outside the EU, the goods are shipped without Danish VAT. You are responsible for any customs, import VAT and duties imposed by your country. Skindhuset's VAT number is DK31268052.
If the order does not arrive
If your order has not arrived within the estimated delivery time, please first wait a few extra days. If nothing arrives, you can:
- contact the shipping company (varies from country to country, e.g. PostNord or DPD), and
- contact us with information about your missing order.
We will then initiate an investigation in collaboration with the shipping company. Processing time varies from country to country and can take up to 60 days. The outcome may be that the parcel is found and sent to you, or that the parcel is considered lost and we send a replacement. If you cannot wait for the investigation, you can re-order at the full price and inform us, so that we can get the lost parcel back and refund your original order.
Return from countries outside the EU
If a parcel is returned from a country outside the EU, it must be sent as a return shipment so that we are not charged customs and duties. Please state our VAT number DK31268052 on the shipment. Return address: Skindhuset A/S (LeatherHouse), Bjerringbrovej 147, 2610 Rødovre, Denmark.
