The curved creasing iron is a tool widely used in leatherworking to create a raised crease. Its use makes it possible to obtain a relief effect. It is commonly used to embellish the edges of leather goods in the style of major leather goods houses, such as belts, purses, handbags, etc.
It is particularly recommended for bringing out more pronounced creases by breaking the grain of semi-grained or grained leathers.
With its raised groove in the haute maroquinerie model, the hot creasing iron from the FN°M family makes it possible to obtain a more pronounced curved crease than the creasing iron from the F family.
It is composed of two fillets: the guide fillet and the tracing fillet.
Longer than the tracing fillet, the guide fillet is placed against the edge of the leather and guides the tracing fillet during creasing.
While the thickness of the tracing fillet is 0.5 mm (tested cold), the width of the crease depends on the item being creased.
