Leather Craft Iron Type E
The Leather Craft Iron Type E is the tool you need to work the edge of the leather and prepare it before applying wax or dye.
The E smoothing iron is used to even out the surface of the leather edge. The guide fillet and the tracing fillet are at the same height. They thus conform to the thickness of the leather edge. The Leather Craft Iron Type E is perfectly suitable for larger products, such as luggage.
This versatile tool is suitable for both pre-smoothing and finishing the edges. It is used in the traditional way to smooth and burnish when hot. Slightly warmed, it is also used to remove leather fibers before any coloring. This contributes to obtaining a clean and professional finish for edges that last.
This leather craft iron is available in 11 different groove widths, in half sizes:
- E1: 1 mm wide
- E1.5: 1.5 mm wide
- E2: 2 mm wide
- E2.5: 2.5 mm wide
- E3: 3 mm wide
- E3.5: 3.5 mm wide
- E4: 4 mm wide
- E4.5: 4.5 mm wide
- E5: 5 mm wide
- E5.5: 5.5 mm wide
- E6: 6 mm wide
Good to know: for the iron to glide smoothly on the piece, it is advisable to choose a groove width that is 0.5 mm greater than the thickness of the leather edge.
