Marking Wheel from French Vergez Blanchard
This marking wheel makes it easy to create even and beautiful stitching in your leatherwork. The brass knob at the end can be opened, and the wheels not in use can be stored inside. The wheels mark angled stitching holes for 7, 8, 10, and 12 stitches per inch. Additional wheels in other sizes can be purchased separately.
"Inversée" and "Droite" are French terms often used in connection with tools, particularly leatherworking tools, to describe the direction of the teeth or the cutting edge of a tool:
- Droite: Means "right" or "right-handed." (Standard/Normal) In a tool context, it means that the teeth or cutting edge of the tool are angled to the right. / / / / / / / / /
- Inversée: Means "reversed" or "left-handed." This means that the teeth or cutting edge are angled in the opposite direction, that is, to the left. \ \ \ \ \ \ \
When these terms are applied to, for example, a pricking wheel used for leather, it means that the pricks made by the tool are angled either to the right or to the left. This is used to create different designs and stitching.
