FC Flat Creasing Iron: The Versatile Tool for Curved Leather Pieces

The FC flat creasing iron is the tool favored by artisans for its maneuverability when creasing small leather goods or those with significant curves.

Among all Regad creasing irons, the iron of the FC family is a short, flat iron that allows artisans to mark curved creasing lines with ease. Thanks to its reduced useful part, you can brace yourself more easily and gain maneuverability. Its precision makes it an indispensable tool for a meticulous and seemingly tedious finish of leather pieces with curves or small sizes.

Screwed onto a Regad handle, this electric creasing iron connects to an M3000 or M6000 power supply. To care for the leather piece and ensure the quality of the result, adjust the potentiometer of your M3000 or M6000 power supply to low heat settings (3 or 4).

The FC creasing iron for curved creasing has two fillets: the guide fillet and the tracing fillet. The guide fillet being longer than the tracing fillet, it allows you to brace the iron against the edge of the leather and guide the tracing fillet during creasing.

The resulting line is more or less pronounced depending on the quality of the leather and the inclination of the iron during the operation. Adaptable to the artisan's uses, it can also be used in two passes, in a back and forth motion, or even in a standing position.

While it is important to act smoothly to obtain a beautiful crease, the pressure applied, the pressure time, and the heating temperature are all factors that also affect the intensity of the groove.

All flat leather creasing irons have a tracing fillet thickness of 0.3 mm.

The choice of your tool will depend on the required useful edge distance:

  • F1C: crease at 0.5 mm from the leather edge
  • F1.5C: crease at 1 mm from the leather edge
  • F2C: crease at 1.5 mm from the leather edge
  • F2.5C: crease at 2 mm from the leather edge
  • F3C: crease at 2.5 mm from the leather edge
  • F3.5C: crease at 3 mm from the leather edge
  • F4C: crease at 3.5 mm from the leather edge
  • F4.5C: crease at 4 mm from the leather edge
  • F5C: crease at 4.5 mm from the leather edge
  • F5.5C: crease at 5 mm from the leather edge
  • F6C: crease at 5.5 mm from the leather edge

Do you need to crease rounded pieces? Choose a creasing iron from the FN°MCR family.

For a more classic flat creasing, opt for a leather craftsman's iron from the F family.

All our creasing irons are also available for left-handed users.
